Try a monochromatic look this holiday by painting a set of black and white ornaments.
Instructions
Glass Ball
- Remove top and squeeze Wicker White paint into glass ball. Move around, covering only half of the inside with white paint and let dry completely.
- Squeeze Licorice into glass ball and move around until remaining glass areas are covered with black. Let dry.
- Using palette knife to spread a light coat of Licorice onto outside of ornament where the black and white meet.
- Tip: Like lightly spreading butter on toast, use the palette knife to create a distressed texture. Let dry.
- Attach small piece of jute for hanging and tie plaid bow.
- Basecoat canvas with Wicker White and let dry.
- Squirt Licorice onto paper plate and drag edge of palette knife into paint.
- Drag the edge of palette knife onto canvas as shown creating the distressed lines. Pick up paint as needed and continue creating plaid pattern as shown. Let dry.
- Basecoat small tag with Licorice and let dry.
- Using small liner brush and Wicker White, write Merry Christmas on tag as shown. Let dry.
- Attach jute for hanging and wood tag as shown with hot glue. Tie small bow with plaid ribbon.
- Basecoat paper mache ball with Licorice and let dry.
- Squirt Wicker White onto paper plate and lightly drag edge of palette knife into paint.
- Using the edge of palette knife create snowflakes as shown. Repeat around entire ornament and let dry.
- Add plaid ribbon.
