This project is so very fun and easy to paint all because the design pattern is already laser etched into the wood plaque!
Instructions
- Paint the entire wood plaque with a coat of Vintage White and allow to dry. Once dry, if necessary, sand smooth.
- Paint the fall leaf wreath with a variety of leaf colors. Leaves are painted:
- Pueblo shaded with Burnt Umber, highlighted with Moon Yellow
- Yellow Ochre shaded with Pueblo
- Thicket shaded with Burnt Umber, highlighted with Moon Yellow
- Burnt Umber highlighted with Wicker White
- Using a liner brush loaded with thinned Burnt Umber, paint vines and stems into the leaves. Add additional vines to create a fuller wreath shape.
- Add small Thicket leaves in groupings of three.
- Add small Pure Orange berries highlighted with Yellow Ochre leaves.
- “Hello” is painted Burnt Umber
- “Autumn” is painted Pure Orange and shaded at the bottom of each letter with Burnt Umber to create an Ombre effect.
- Corners: Paint the small acorns Burnt Umber and highlight with Wicker White. Paint the small leaves with Thicket and highlight with Moon Yellow.
- Shade the border line around the plaque with a wash of Yellow Ochre.
- Accent the entire wreath with paint splatters using thinned Burnt Umber loaded on an old toothbrush to flyspeck.
