Laguna Harvest Pumpkins

Instructions

1. Print out the downloadable artwork at 100% scale. Cut out the shapes with scissors. Tape the two half circles together.
2. Trace the large circle in the bottom left side of the canvas. Refer to project photo for placement. Trace the smaller circle in the top left corner and bottom right corners of the canvas. Refer back to the photo for placement. Make sure to mark the notches around the circles on the canvas.
3. Prepare your palette by squeezing out a 1” diameter size amount of each color onto a paper plate. Add more as needed.
4. Using a ¾” flat brush, basecoat your canvas using Laguna Blue in a dabbing motion. Leave the circles blank. While the paint is still wet, add some Oyster White in a dabbing motion in the top right to create a light source. Let dry.
5. Using a ¾” flat brush, paint the circles with Oyster White. Round the edges of the circles between the notches to create a pumpkin shape.
6. Use the #6 round brush to outline the pumpkins with Spice Brown.
7. Load your ¾” flat brush with ⅔ Oyster White and ⅓ Laguna Blue and add shadow to the center of the pumpkins with a dabbing motion. Refer to the project photo.
8. Load your #6 round brush with ⅔ Spice Brown and ⅓ Oyster White. Paint shadows on the bottom left sides of your pumpkin curves (opposite your light source in the top right of the canvas).
9. Using your #6 round brush, paint a circular stem in the center of each pumpkin using Spice Brown. Add Laguna Blue and Oyster White to the top right of each stem for a highlight.
10. On your paper plate, mix one part Oyster White and one part Spice Brown. Use your #6 round brush to paint a shadow under the bottom left side of the pumpkin stems.
11. Using a pencil, trace your leaf cut-outs scattered around the pumpkins as desired (or refer to project photo for placement).
12. Using the #6 round brush, outline and fill in the leaves with Spice Brown. While the paint is still wet, load your #6 round brush with Oyster White and paint highlights along the top right edges of all of the leaves.
13. Using the very tip of your #6 round brush, paint veins on the leaves using Oyster White.
