Other Supplies
Primer, Brushes (large for table and small for lettering), Sandpaper, Polyurethane, Small paint roller with foam roller, Carbon paper or tracing paper, pencil
Instructions
- Sand table top to remove any bumps, old finish, etc.
- When smooth, paint table with Lime Green – about two coats.
- Paint table legs with Pure Black.
- When dry, distress legs and table top edges
with 80 grit sandpaper.
- I found the
words Bon Appetite on the internet and printed a version I liked on my
computer. Place carbon paper under the
printout and trace onto table top. Using
small brush and the FolkArt Black paint the lettering. (another option would be to use the FolkArt
blank stencils with a Cricut machine and print your own custom stencil! Very cool!)
- When dry, mix 4 parts water with one part black paint and using soft
cloth, glaze the top of the table – focusing on the distressed edges. Work quickly, and try to spread the glaze in one direction.
- When the glaze is dry, use a water based
polyurethane to seal table top. Apply
3-4 coats with a small roller handle and foam roller, rolling in one direction. Allow to dry between coats.
