Other Things You'll Need

  • 2 different size cake pans
  • 2 wooden candle holders
  • 1" wooden ball
  • 2 ½" drywall screw
  • Drill
  • Drill bit
  • Long Nail
  • Scrap Wood
  • 1" wood block
  • 3/8" wooden button plug
  • E6000 glue
  • Hammer
  • Screwdriver
  • Needle nose pliers

Instructions

  1.  Place the larger pan on the scrap piece of wood.  Find the center and then make a hole by hammering the large nail though the pan.  Repeat for the smaller pan.
  2. Remove the screws from the bottom of the candle holders.
  3. Remove the metal piece that is in the candle cup with needle nose pliers.
  4. Glue the 1” ball to the top of one of the candle holders with E6000.  Allow for this to dry before painting.
  5. Drill a pilot hole in the bottom and top of one candle and only in the bottom of the other.  This will make the screw go in easier.
  6. Glue four wooden button plugs to the bottom of the large pan using E6000.  Wait for the glue to dry before proceeding.
  7. Basecoat all pieces with White Adirondack.  Allow to dry.
  8. Screw the first candle holder onto the large pan from the bottom.
  9. Place the smaller pan on top of the candle holder and screw this from the top.
  10. Use E6000 to glue the top candle holder with the wooden ball to the center of the top pan.
  11. Dry Brush the entire piece with Parisian Gray.
  12. Use the small 1” block of wood to distress in Rich Black.  Dip the block into the black paint and remove excess.  Lightly glide the block along the surface and all the edges.
