Other Supplies

  • Stencil tape
  • Wooden birdhouse
  • Scrapbooking paper
  • Small glass triangle tiles
  • Scissors
  • Paper towels
  • Water basin

Instructions

  1. Using a 1” brush, basecoat the birdhouse using your selected color. Let dry.
  2. Using scissors, cut pieces of scrapbooking paper to fit the sides of the birdhouse.
  3. To apply the paper, spray the back of the paper with Mod Podge Ultra Gloss following the instructions on the bottle. Spray the side of the birdhouse that the paper fits onto as well. Position the paper onto the birdhouse, adjusting the position if necessary. Repeat this step for all 4 sides of the birdhouse. Let dry.
  4. Using stencil tape, mask off the bottom 1” of the birdhouse. Using a 1” flat brush, paint Pure Gold in the area below the tape. Let dry. Apply a second coat if necessary. Carefully remove the tape.
  5. Lay the birdhouse on its back to that the front is facing up. Spray a small amount of Mod Podge Ultra Gloss to the area around the opening of the birdhouse, following the instructions on the bottle. Arrange small glass tiles around the opening and let dry.
  6. Lean the birdhouse on a small item such as a cup so that one of the sides of the roof is sitting level with your work surface. Spray a generous amount of Mod Podge Ultra Gloss to the roof and arrange small glass tiles in a pattern. Let dry and repeat on the other side of the roof.
  7. When the birdhouse is dry, apply another coat of Mod Podge Ultra to the entire birdhouse to seal the paint, tiles and paper. When the Birdhouse is completely dry, it is safe to use outdoors!
