Valentines Heart and Yarn Wall Hanging

Other Supplies

  • 12” metal hoop or embroidery hoop
  • Assorted Wood hearts
  • Cream Yarn
  • Cream Embroidery thread
  • Scissors
  • Small drill bit

instructions

  1. Drill 2 small holes in wood hearts as shown in photo.
  2. Paint wood hearts as shown and let dry.
  3. Thread embroidery thread through hearts and wrap extra floss around hoop as shown to create desired look. Tie at the end to secure onto hoop.
  4. Cut yarn into 24” pieces and tie to bottom of hoop as shown. Trim to desired length.
  5. Mix 1 part water to 2 parts paint. Mix a small cup of Apple Red and a small cup of Pink.
  6. Lay yarn on wax paper and saturate the yarn with paint as shown. Let dry.
  7. Add yarn to the top of hoop to hang.

Cool colors are all the colors on the Green and Blue side of the color wheel. Yellow, Yellow/Green, Green, Blue/Green, Blue, Blue/Purple, Purple are all cool colors. All colors on the color wheel can be both warm and cool except Orange.
Transparent colors are thinned with medium or water to create a wash or a glaze of color that you can see through to the underlying surface.
