Give your next project a frosted look with a layer of FolkArt Frost Effect. This frosted formula is a high-quality cream that dries to a translucent, frosty appearance similar to frosted beach glass. Use on glass, clear acrylic, rigid plastics, and more. Add dimension and style to your crafts with the FolkArt Frost Effect.
FolkArt Frost Effect can be used on any ceramic or glass surface such as windows, mirrors, vases, plates or drinking glasses, etc. FolkArt Frost Effect should not be applied within 1" or (2.5cm) from lip of glass or painted where it will make contact with food or beverage.
Yes, all ceramic and glass should be washed with soap and water to remove dirt and dust. Once dried, ceramic and glass surfaces should be wiped with a rubbing alcohol dampened cloth and allowed to dry before painting.
FolkArt Frost Effect should be thoroughly mixed before using, however, do NOT shake the bottle. It is best to “roll” the bottle on a tabletop to thoroughly mix.
Yes, FolkArt Frost Effect may be tinted using FolkArt Acrylic Paints. To tint, squeeze desired amount of etching paint onto a palette; using a palette knife add the color of choice, small amount at a time, until desired shade is achieved.
It is best to apply FolkArt Frost Effect by pouncing the surface using a FolkArt Stencil Brush or a dense foam sponge. However, a soft bristle brush may also be used.
Load the flat surface of a FolkArt stencil brush with FolkArt Frost Effect and lightly dab the surface applying a thin layer of frost paint. Another technique is to pounce or dab the surface lightly using a high dense foam sponge loaded with a small amount of FolkArt Frost Effect.
Yes, FolkArt Frost Effect may be used in combination with FolkArt stencils. Secure the stencil in place using stencil tape. Then lightly pounce over the open surface of the stencil.
Yes, first apply stencil tape as a guideline when creating a shape such as a stripe. Apply FolkArt Frost Effect within the taped design, and then carefully lift the tape while the Frost Effect paint is wet. FolkArt Frost Effect should not be applied within 1” or 2.5 cm. from lip of glass or painted where it will make contact with food or beverage.
Yes, etched areas can be embellished with painted FolkArt Acrylic designs.
Painted glassware that has been decorated with FolkArt Frost Effect should be kept for “decorative purposes only” as painted items cannot be washed.
Yes, FolkArt Frost Effect can be used on outdoor surfaces providing it is not directly exposed to the elements; each decorated project should be displayed in a protected area.
Yes, FolkArt Frost Effect can be used in humid areas such as a bathroom mirror.
After using FolkArt Frost Effect, clean tools while still wet. Clean up is easy with soap and water.
Yes, FolkArt Frost Effect can be used to decorate glassware; however, painted items should be used for decorative purposes only as it cannot be cured to the surface.
