Each week throughout November and December we are going to focus on 6 different holiday themes for decorating and gift-giving. We'll show you step by step how to create stunning home decor pieces to last minute gift ideas that are handmade and special. Our first theme for the holiday season is neutrals or natural elements in your holiday celebration. As you will see in the weeks to come, not all holiday decor has to be basic red and green. We took the minimalist style and muted tones and created a truly beautiful collection of gift ideas and decor pieces that will make you rethink how you decorate for Christmas.
Our team had so much fun creating this unique theme for any holiday celebration and there were three things all the project had that came in handy that you need!
Between these 3, sets you have everything you need to make your low-key holiday decor and gifts.
Within this theme, we created some great decor pieces as well as great gift ideas that are perfect as last minute gifts.
These four projects are great because you can personalize and make them unique using different textures and materials. Having a cookie exchange? Decorate basic glass jars for a sweet way to deliver your treats. Gift baskets are the perfect way to give a handmade gift. Take a wood box to the next level by wood burning a holiday bow on top. Then stuff the inside of your box with personalized wine glass and coasters or leather pet ornaments. The most important thing to remember when decorating with a natural theme is to use a variety of raw textures and keep it simple! No loud patterns or colors just simple designs that will still make a statement in your holiday traditions. And the last gift idea is a custom cutting board with matching spoons for the master chef in your life who loves to cook. You don't need much to make a simple impact on those you love!

The holidays are nothing without decorations. Which is why we have created several projects that fit the basic decoration needs like ornaments, signs, a snow village, and more! Another important aspect to this natural theme is recycling and reusing. Use thrifted pieces and extra paper to create a unique display to make your holidays special. Take the snow village below, use paper mache house, wooden boxes, cone trees, and our FolkArt Terra Cotta and Glossy to make a muted town of houses painted in very basic tones. You could easily make a village just like this using old cereal boxes or cans. As for your Christmas tree, if you are looking to freshen up the ornaments, try creating your own with paper and fun patterns. It's simple, fun, easy, and affordable! Take thrifted vases and paint them with FolkArt Terra Cotta for a unique addition to any space during the holidays. And finally, a natural theme is nothing without some wood burned effects thrown in. Add your favorite holiday sayings and phrases to leftover slabs of wood or wood rounds to make beautiful, handmade signs and wreaths. Our wood burning tool makes it so easy!
