What are the Plaid Creators making?
Have you ever wondered what WE like to craft? As you already know our in-house Content Studio team is extremely talented and is responsible for all the amazing projects that you see each week. We love turning trash into treasure, so this week we asked our Content Studio team to show how they craft on a personal level, by creating something that is meaningful to them.

We are so excited for you to get to know our team a little better and what motivates them to create. You might even find something you have in comment with one of our creators. Continue reading to see how our creators reloved some of their favorite things with Plaid products.

The next time you are in a thrift store, pick up a simple piece of furniture and transform it into something new and fresh with a coat of paint, a stencil, or a scrap of fabric. In the below projects, our team used everything from FolkArt Home Decor Chalk to Mod Podge to make their personal items pop! Have you ever upcycled a home decor piece? If so, make sure to share it with us using #PlaidCrafts!

I grew up in a musical family and I have always been surrounded by instruments. Now, I am living with my boyfriend who is an awesome guitar player. There are always guitar picks everywhere in our apartment- even when you think you have cleaned them all, another one turns up! I decided to repurpose some into some modern wall art for our new apartment.

I got married this past year and, in planning, I decided that I wanted to use vintage brass candlesticks as centerpieces. My friends and family helped me collect dozens and dozens of them from thrift stores. Unfortunately, we had to significantly downsize the wedding so I had many candlesticks to spare. They represent a great memory of how much my family and friends were willing to help me plan my best day ever, so I decided to refresh a few and incorporate them into my home decor.

Photography is a big part of both my personal and professional life, and I thought this vintage Kodak Brownie camera could use a little refresh. I used Mod Podge Matte along with some colorful papers and FolkArt Multisurface paint to modernize a piece of technology from the past.

My neighbor asked me to cut her doors in half for a pet gate and she gave me the other half of the door as payment. I love transforming old things into new pieces and that is how I got the idea for this bench.

I found an antique vanity on the side of the road. It was damaged and needed some love but it had so much personality. Some of my favorite pieces have been found on the curb- I am always looking! Also, I had been storing a favorite vintage fabric for several years. I found two lamps at a goodwill and finally had an idea for the fabric!
