Bridges are partitions within the design of the stencil. Stencils without bridges are called "bridgeless" or "theorem-style" stencils.
It is advisable to wait until the first
paint application is thoroughly dry prior to layering a second part of the stencil design. Layering a stencil while wet will ensure a mistake of blurred
paint.
Tint is a gradation of a color made by adding white to it to lessen its saturation.
Tone is the relative lightness or darkness of a color.
Opaque is color that covers the surface sufficiently so that you cannot see through it.
Glaze is a transparent or translucent layer of color applied as a wash over another color or surface to slightly alter the tone, temperature or value of an area.
Scumble is a thin application of opaque color scrubbed over an area to change the tone, temperature or value.
Both FolkArt® Shinys and FolkArt® Outdoor use the same acrylic polymers. The difference between the two is the finish. FolkArt® Shinys have a glossy finish and FolkArt® Outdoor has a satin finish.
