FAQs

How do you paint vines using the One Stroke™ script liner brush?
Pull the brush along in an uneven line.
Cross the vine with other lines to make an intertwining look.
Why shouldn’t I wash my Bucilla tablecloth fabrics before stitching?
Bucilla tablecloth designs are stamped with water-soluble ink. If you wash the tablecloth before you stitch it, you will lose the pattern. When you are finished stitching your design, you will want to wash the piece so the ink markings do not interfere with your beautiful stitch work.
What is the difference between the solid blue patterns and the multicolor patterns in your Bucilla stamped goods program?
The blue ink is washable- you stitch it first and then wash it so the ink disappears. The multicolor ink is permanent. It will not disappear. The choice is yours for how you like to stitch.
Is the instruction and chart easy to follow?
Yes. Package instructions include step-by-step stitching diagrams and finishing instructions for each kit.
Why should you use a hoop when working a needlecraft project?
Using a hoop makes it much easier to complete the stitching. When the fabric is stretched taut, it makes the hole as big as possible, which allows the needle to slip easily in and out of the holes. Hoops also allow for better control and more uniform stitch work.
How do I read my Color & Symbol Guide for my Bucilla project?
The 1st column is for the type of stitch. The 2nd column is the symbol for the individual colors. The 3rd column is the number of strands to be used in stitching the design. The 4th column is the color name. (Please be advised that the color name is specific to your kit. You may use the same color in another kit and it will be named something different.) The 5th column shows the Bucilla Floss Color Number. The 6th column shows the number of yards your kit should contain of each color. (Please be advised that your kit may be sent 2-yard strands of floss. So if your kit calls for 4 yards of a certain color, you may have 2 long strings that equal that 4 yards.) The 7th column shows the color name in French and Spanish for our International Consumers.
How do I attach very small pieces of felt to my Bucilla felt projects?
For very small pieces of felt that have to be stitched, use a dot of fabric glue, let dry and then stitch.
