FAQs

My Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage Decor paint has clumps in it! What should I do?
Over time, that is perfectly natural. As air becomes trapped in the top portion of the paint bottle (after it has been opened and paint used) a paint skin may form.
With each paint use, it is best to remove the top skin before stirring the paint.
What types of surfaces does Erasable Liquid Chalk work on?
For best results, use it on top of Martha Stewart Crafts® Multi-Surface Chalkboard Paint that has been conditioned by lightly rubbing chalk over the surface.
What are the instructions for removing the Erasable Liquid Chalk from my project?
Erasable Liquid Chalk is so easy to remove.
Just use a damp sponge or paper towel to wipe the paint away and then use a dry paper towel to completely remove the paint from the surface. Once completely dry, always re-condition your chalkboard surface after removing the Erasable Liquid Chalk.
Can I mix two FolkArt Ultra Dye colors to achieve a new color or different value of the same color?
Yes, FolkArt Ultra Dye is available in 14 high-chroma, intense colors that are intermixable to create custom colors which can match any home decor project or fit any decorating occasion.
To mix small amounts of color at a time, simply pour a small amount of the lighter color into a mixing bowl and add small quantities of the darker color until the desired color is achieved.
What is Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage Decor Wax?
Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage Decor Wax is a brushable, waterbased, non-toxic wax used to seal and protect painted surfaces.

What makes Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage Decor paint ideal for creating the distressed look?
Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage Decor paints sand easily without “gumming up” the sandpaper. It sands to a fine powder which is easily brushed or wiped away.
When satisfied with the distressed look, wipe project surface with a damp paper towel to remove excess sanding dust. Then you are ready to seal and protect your project with the Vintage Decor Waxes.
How long does Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage Decor paint take to dry?
On most surfaces, Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage Decor paint dries to the touch very quickly. However, we recommend 2 hours of dry time in between coats.
Note: a hair dryer may be used to speed up drying time. The paint fully cures in 24 hours. The wax fully cures in 7 days.
When I’ve completed using Erasable Liquid Chalk, do I need to do anything to my chalkboard surface?
No, once fully dry the paint has a no-smudge beautiful chalk effect.
