How to Make a Mom's Advice Chalkboard

• 18” x 24” Wood framed chalkboard
• 16” x 7” White poster board
• Ruler
• Pencil
• Painters tape
• Black paint pen or marker
• Palette
• Water Basin

Instructions

1. Prep the chalkboard frame by sanding any rough edges. Wipe free of dust and debris.
2. Paint the entire frame in Pure Black. Let dry.
3. Paint the front face of the frame with two coats of Dove Gray. Let in between coats.
4. Lay the poster board face down (not glossy) lengthwise. Lightly draw two baselines for saying. Draw the first line 3” down from the top long edge. Draw the second line 5 ½” down from the top of the board.
5. Stencil each letter in Pure Black. Secure the stencil with stencil tape (or adhesive). Load the stencil brush by dipping into puddle of paint. Offload the brush by dabbing onto paper towel, removing most paint and achieving a “dry brush”.  Apply paint in a pouncing motion through the open areas of the stencil, using the project photo as a guide. Let dry.
6. Erase all pencil marks using a clean eraser.
7. Stencil the flower shapes from the stencil pack in Pure Black. Let dry. Paint a round centers in Dove Gray and let dry.
8. Lightly handwrite in pencil “Because She’s ALWAYS right.” Trace over with a paint pen or permanent marker.
9. Tape the completed poster board to the inside top of the chalkboard.
