When applying the metallic foils to a surface, what is the best direction to move the Hot Foil Pen?

Most creators find it easier to pull the Hot Foil Pen towards you while creating a design.  Or if personalizing with your own handwriting, use the tool like a pen or pencil and slowly write as you normally would.  Reposition the project surface often to make it easier to control.
