What is the best way to support my fabric project while painting my design?
Placing a wax paper or plastic wrapped cardboard form behind the area to be painted will not only give you a sturdy surface on which to paint, you will also protect the back or additional layers of your project. You may also find it helpful to tape a piece of fine grade sandpaper to the cardboard form; this will keep your fabric from shifting while painting.
Can I use photographs with Mod Podge?
We do not recommend using original photographs. Have a color copy made with a dry toner copier before applying Mod Podge.
Do I need to add a sealer for additional protection?
To further protect your painted surface, you may polish the surface with a neutral shoe polish or any type of household furniture polish. Apply following manufacturer’s instructions.
Do I need to clean my surface or window before applying Gallery Glass® Window Color™?
Yes. Prior to beginning your project, clean surface with window cleaner and dry thoroughly.
Help! I stained my needlework! What do I do?
The best way to try to remove the stain is to hand wash or soak your needlework project in a cold water/mild dish liquid detergent bath. Allow the project to soak. If desired, the project can also be slightly agitated with your fingers in the bath making sure all the soiled area is fully immersed in the soapy water. After soaking, rinse well under cool water. If necessary, repeat soaking in a fresh cool water/mild dish liquid detergent bath, then rinse well once again.

We recommend first trying to simply soak the project in cold water, mild dish liquid and vinegar (Use a mild soap like Joy or Ivory, and 1 ½ cups of vinegar for large projects. ½ cup for smaller project.) Freshen the mixture periodically. If that does not work, you can try a stain stick, but avoid anything that is detergent based.

How do I cross stitch on evenweave fabric?
Cross-stitches on evenweave are worked over two fabric threads, so the finished “x” covers a four-thread square.
Stitching is done by coming up through a hole between woven threads at A. Then go down at B, the hole diagonally across from A. Come back up at C and down at D, etc. Complete the top stitches to create an “X.” All top stitches should lie in the same direction.
How do I use the FolkArt® One Stroke™ Reusable Teaching Guides if I am left handed?
Reverse the start/end directions. Always start where it says end and end your stroke where it says start.

FolkArt® Outdoor™ paints are formulated with rich and creamy consistencies in true artists palettes that deliver high hide with UV protection and weather resistance that makes this paint the perfect paint for outdoor use. It is self-sealing, no primers, sealers or varnishes are required. FolkArt® Outdoor paints can be applied on a variety of surfaces such as metal, terra cotta, wood, concrete, galvanized tin and more.
