Paper Mosaic Clay Pot - by Cathie and Steve 
Create a faux mosaic look with cut pieces of watercolor papers and Mod Podge.
 
Skill Level - Beginner

Time to complete -2 hours or more
 
Plaid Supplies: Other Supplies:
  • Clay Pot
  • Paintbrushes
  • Watercolor Paper
  • Scissors 
Instructions/Steps:
  1. Paint the clay pot with White Adirondack. This will just prime the pot so the terracotta color will not show through. Use two coats. Paint the rim with two coats of Inca Gold.
  2. Cut the papers into small shapes. Each one should be slightly different in shape and size.
  3. Starting at the top, apply papers to the pot. Apply Mod Podge to the back of the paper and onto the clay pot . Position the paper onto the pot and press with your finger to remove any air-bubbles. Continue adding more papers until the entire pot is covered. 
  4. Top-coat with two layers of Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge. Allow for dry time in between coats. Cure as directed on the bottle instructions.
 
PROJECT TIP:
Make a “Broken China” looking pot by color coping old China dishes and cutting them into small pieces.

Pearl Decoden Clay Pot -  by Cathie and Steve
 
Create a beaded pearl pot with collage clay and strung plastic pearls.
 
Skill Level - Beginner
 
Time to complete - 2 hours or more
 
Plaid Supplies: Other Supplies:
  • Clay Pot
  • Plastic Knife
  • Scissors 
Instructions/Steps:
  1. Paint the clay pot with White Adirondack. This will just prime the pot so the terracotta color will not show through.
  2. Apply a thick coat of Collage Clay to the outside of the clay pot. Use a plastic knife to even the clay.
  3.  Starting at the top, press the pearls into the Collage Clay.  Work your way down the pot , pressing the pearls into the clay.
  4.  Allow to dry overnight. 
PROJECT TIP:
Substitute pearls with loose rhinestones or small glass pebbles.
