Instructions

Preparation

  1. Refer to the Basic Stenciling Tips for information on using Martha Stewart Stencils.
  2. Prewash all glassware and ceramics in warm soapy water prior to decorating. Rinse well and dry.

Large Ceramic Canister

  1. Stencil “Flour” centered on the large canister using a small dauber and Pool. While paint is still wet, carefully remove stencil. Let dry.
  2. Stencil the second layer Greek Tile using a small dauber. While paint is still wet, carefully remove stencil. Let dry.
  • TIP: When adding the second layer on glass, do not remove the stencil from the backing paper as the adhesive may pull up the first layer of paint from the surface. In place of using the adhesive backing, tape the stencil (while attached to the backing sheet) in place or hold the stencil in place with fingers.

Small Ceramic Canister

  1. Stencil “Sugar” centered on the small canister using a small dauber and Yellow Jacket. While paint is still wet, carefully remove stencil. Let dry.
  2. Stencil the second layer Pumpkin using a small dauber.

Ceramic Butter Dish

  1. Stencil “Butter” Greek Tile using a small dauber. While paint is still wet, carefully remove stencil. Let dry.
  2. Stencil the second layer Yellow Jacket using a small dauber.

Clean Up

  1. Wash all stencils, brushes, and tools immediately after use before the paint dries.
  2. Cleaned stencils should be stored on the backer sheet for future use.

Finishing

  1. Allow your painted project to dry for at least 24 hours before using the bake-to-cure method to enhance your project’s durability.
