Denim Shirt with Fabric Patterns & Patches

  • Pencil
  • wax paper
  • ¼ yard of coordinating fabrics
  • Denim shirt

instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Wash and dry scrap fabric and shirt.
  2. Place fabric onto shirt as shown and cut into irregular shapes and patches and trace lightly with pencil to create a pattern. Cut out around pattern ½” larger all the way around.
  3. Place fabric patches onto wax paper and apply thin coat of Fabric Mod Podge around edges only. * Tip- about 1” all the way around over pattern lines. Let dry. Then cut out on pattern line. (Cutting fabric that is lightly coated with Mod Podge keeps the fabric from fraying.) 
  4. Apply thin coat of Mod Podge to back of fabric and smooth onto shirt as shown. Let dry.
  5. Following basic instructions on mesh stencil. Add hearts and words as shown with Bright Pink. Let dry.
