Other Supplies

Canvas lampshade, Text Pages from magazine, 3 Small paper doilies, Pencil, Poster board, Lime green and brown scrapbook paper, Green burlap twine, Hot glue, Brush basin, Paper towels, Foam plate

Instructions

LAMPSHADE PREP

  1. Using the Medium Foam Applicator loaded with Opaque Soft Gel Cerulean Blue, begin painting in circular motions around the top of the lampshade moving down approximately 1/4 the shade.
  2. Continue using this same motion working from the bottom of the shade up 1/4 painting circular motions of Transparent Soft Gel Prussian Blue.
  3. Before the paint dries, quickly add Opaque Soft Gel White in circular motions around the center of the shade, slightly overlapping the blues at the top and bottom, creating a blended painterly effect.
  4. Accent bottom of shade with a light spritz of color using Bright Green Color Spray.
  5. Lightly spray White Color Spray over entire lampshade. Let dry while you complete the flowers.

FLOWERS

  1. Create flower petal and leaf templates.  Trace patterns onto poster board then cut out with scissors.
  2. Photocopy the magazine black and white text onto three sheets of copy paper. Using poster board petal template, trace eight petals per flower. (24 petals for three flowers.) Lightly spray all petals with Bright Pink Color Spray; allow to dry.  Then paint the edges with Transparent Soft Gel Sepia. Let dry.
  3. Stencil the lime green scrapbook paper with Opaque Soft Gel Permanent Green Light with a pattern of your choice from Stencil Pack. Let dry. Using poster board leaf template, trace and cut out six double leaf shapes.  Next, shade the leaf pair center with Transparent Soft Gel Hooker's Green.
  4. Cut a small center circle from three paper doilies.  Paint each small doily Transparent Soft Gel Indian Yellow. Let dry.  Mount the painted doily circle onto brown scrapbook paper using hot glue; then trim excess brown scrapbook paper.
  5.  Assemble the flowers by hot gluing eight flower petals behind a doily flower center circle.

ASSEMBLY

  1.  Hot glue the three flowers onto the shade where desired.
  2. Attach a burlap string/twine as the flower stem with two double leaf sets.
